(Dallas) – Republican business owner Lisa Luby Ryan followed up her strong campaign rollout by releasing fundraising totals underscoring the serious threat she poses to incumbent Jason Villalba.
For the period ended December 31, Lisa Luby Ryan will show over $220,000 in contributions from approximately 270 donors, buttressed with a personal loan of $50,000 for a total amount of over $270,000. Over 80% of her funding was from Dallas County.
The fundraising totals represent one of the highest reported for a GOP challenger anywhere in Texas for a January 15 pre-primary report. Villalba’s most recent primary challenger earned almost 45% of the vote with a total campaign budget of less than $125,000. On the most recent campaign finance report filed by Villalba in July, the incumbent reported less than $30,000 cash on hand.
Lisa Luby Ryan said, “As our fundraising report shows, we are in this race to win. Since my November 20th announcement it has been a whirlwind of fundraising, door knocking, and meeting voters across the district. It is abundantly clear that voters are ready for a change.”
With a long history of volunteer, civic, and political leadership, Lisa Luby Ryan is an entrepreneur and is known as an acclaimed interior designer and has also designed her own line of furniture.
