(Dallas) November 20, 2017–  Citing the need for new leadership, and backed with major GOP support, Republican businesswoman Lisa Luby Ryan today declared her candidacy for State Representative in Texas House District 114.  She also announced that Dallas businessman Brint Ryan will serve as Campaign Treasurer and that prominent district leaders Tandy Mitchell, Roxanne Phillips, and Margaret Lewis will serve as Honorary Campaign Co-Chairs.

Brint Ryan stated, “Texas needs committed, articulate leaders like Lisa Luby Ryan who can fight for lower taxes, less regulation and a strong business climate, and that’s why I’m fully on board with her candidacy.  In the next legislative session, Lisa will be a great asset for our district and I’m proud to endorse her.”

Lisa Luby Ryan said, “I’m simply overwhelmed at the initial support we have already earned and grateful for the caliber of individuals joining this campaign. Today’s announcement sends a loud and clear message that this district believes that we can do better than our current representation.  I am running to provide voters a clear choice, and with this great support I intend to win.”

Norm Miller, Dallas business leader and HD 114 resident said, “Lisa Luby Ryan is an articulate conservative leader whom I’m pleased to support as my next state representative.  With her skills, temperament, and small business background, she will represent our district effectively in the state capitol.”

District businessman Keet Lewis stated, “This district is ready for a change in leadership, and I am confident that Lisa Luby Ryan is the right person to move us forward.  Lisa is solution-oriented and understands the responsibilities and challenges common to business owners.”

Sandy Ammons, Republican Precinct Chair and longtime Executive Assistant to the late Ebby Halliday, said, “Beyond a doubt, Lisa Luby Ryan is the most qualified person to serve our district.  As a successful businesswoman, a strong community leader, and an advocate for true conservative principles, Lisa has done it all.  She is well-known for her commitment to accountability and has a sincere willingness to listen closely to needs and concerns. “

With a long history of volunteer, civic, and political leadership, Lisa Luby Ryan is an entrepreneur and is known as an acclaimed interior designer and has also designed her own line of furniture.

She is past president of the Park Cities Republican Women, current board member of Council for Life, and a former board member of Brighter Dallas and Associated Republicans of Texans.  She currently serves on the Advisory Board for Dallas-based Initiative and has been previously involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Lisa’s association with e3partners, a media-based ministry, led to sharing her powerful personal testimony of redemption and serving as national spokesperson for their iamsecond.com campaign. Lisa was the second recipient of the Norm Miller Award, awarded to a person demonstrating a bold faith and impacting lives through their professional and personal life.  Lisa and her husband Jay are the parents of two sons, Kyle, married to Sarah Jo, and Casey.  Lisa and Jay reside in Dallas and attend Gateway Church.
